State Representatives Cindy Abrams and Phil Plummer have announced the endorsement of House Bill 372, known as The Larry Henderson Act, by the National Police Association. This bill aims to increase the criminal sentence for those convicted of aggravated murder of peace officers, prosecutors, first responders, or military members. The proposed penalties include life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty.

Abrams stated, "Our first responders should be able to do their jobs without fear of violent retaliation." She emphasized that families should not worry about whether parole boards will release their loved ones' murderers.

Plummer added, "Both first responders and military personnel are essential components of safe communities," asserting Ohio's commitment to protecting them and ensuring severe judicial consequences for offenders.

House Bill 372 is currently awaiting a House Committee assignment.
