MEETING UPDATE: APRIL 11 PLANNING COMMISSION

In anticipation of a large audience, the April 11 Planning Commission meeting has been moved to the Harrison American Legion Post 199 (10700 Campbell Road). The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Planning Commission conducted a Public Hearing at its March 14 meeting to consider the Oakland Hills’ mixed-used R-PUD (Residential Planned Unit Development). The proposal, presented by Gradison Development, was tabled to the April 11 Planning Commission meeting’s regular agenda. The developer has resubmitted the plan with minor modifications that reflect 75-foot-wide lots for the ‘villa’ style homes for the areas abutting the east side of Carolina Trace and Walkingfern Drive to the north. The plan also states that no vinyl siding would be used for any of the homes, including the owner-occupied townhomes west of Carolina Trace next to the existing industrial and commercial-zoned areas. Public input at the meeting may be permitted but it would be limited to the minor modifications, with restrictions to the number of speakers and time permitted.
