COLUMBUS—Senator Louis W. Blessing, III (R-Colerain Township) announced more than $15 million in Capital Budget projects across Senate District 8. This announcement follows last week’s declaration of a $350 million investment by the Senate in Ohio communities from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.
"We have had yet another great investment into our Southwest Ohio neighborhoods through our Capital Budget process," said Blessing. "These benefits cover public safety, workforce training, and parks and recreation facilities and many more. I am pleased to see these funds directly improving lives."
Projects funded in Senator Blessing’s district include:
- Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati: $1,400,000
- Best Point West Cincinnati Early Childhood and Mental Health Center Construction: $650,000
- Urban League Renovation & Addition: $145,000
- Mercantile Library Improvements: $125,000
- Meals on Wheels Driving into the Future: $750,000
- Scout Achievement Center: $300,000

- William Henry Harrison Riverfront Park Project: $500,000

- YWCA of Greater Cincinnati Domestic Violence Shelter: $400,000
The Capital Budget also includes allocations for broader state initiatives such as:

- Local infrastructure projects including roads and water and sewer projects: $575 million
The Ohio General Assembly typically approves a Capital Budget every two years to fund improvements to public services and facilities statewide. These include schools, infrastructure projects, mental health facilities, and addiction treatment centers.
Senate Bill 292 contains the overall Capital Budget with hearings set to begin Tuesday in the Senate's Finance Committee. Further details on secured projects can be found on the online newsroom On The Record.
