City of Blue Ash issued the following announcement on Feb 28.
Blue Ash Police Chief Scott Noel has received a Patriotic Employer Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense for supporting employee participation in the National Guard and Reserve Forces.
"It is truly an honor to support all of our employees that have served in the United States Military," said Chief Noel in a Facebook post. "I’m especially proud to support our personnel that are still actively serving in our military."
Patriot Awards are given to individual supervisors for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employees who are also citizen warriors through flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed, according to a letter from the Ohio Committee for Ohio Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Chief Noel was nominated for the award by Sgt. Jun Cho, a member of the Air National Guard.
