Congratulations to Blue Ash Police Dispatcher Katie Farmer!  She received the Bob George Communications Officer of the Year Award from the Hamilton County Police Association.

The award is given to a full-time dispatcher/communications officer who has demonstrated extraordinary professionalism and calm while handling a stressful call or radio run.

In the nomination, Blue Ash Sgt. Jun Cho stated, “Katie is one of the subject matter experts and Technical Editors for a committee within the Association of Police Communication Officers (APCO).  The committee created an APCO American National Standard (A.N.S.), Detecting Early Warning Symptoms of Stress in Public Safety Telecommunicators, APCO ANS 3.111.1-2022.  The A.N.S. was published in November 2022, setting the groundwork and breakthrough guidance on detecting early warning symptoms of stress in public safety telecommunicators. Katie’s dedication and direct involvement will improve communicator’s mental and physical health locally and across the nation.”

The award is given in honor of Bob George who was known for his kindness and compassion as a dispatcher.
