CITY OF CHEVIOT CIVIL SERVICE EXAM FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC
GENERAL
Notice is hereby given that the City Cheviot Civil Service Commission will administer a competitive examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of Full-Time Firefighter-Paramedic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Certificate
Driver’s License
Ohio Firefighter II Certification
Ohio Paramedic Certification (Applicants currently enrolled in an accredited paramedic school program at time of application submission may apply. Proof of attendance may be required)
SALARY
Starting: $63,165.50 with 3 year catch up.

Paid Holiday time off and vacation days (after fulfilling 12-month probationary period). Group medical insurance plan. Members also contribute to the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Retirement System.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
The examination process includes the successful completion of the following: Written Examination, Physical Agility Test, Interview(s), Background Investigation, Polygraph, Psychological Examination and Medical Physical & Drug Screen
WRITTEN EXAMINATION
Location: 3723 Robb Ave Cheviot, Ohio 45211 (Cheviot Fieldhouse Basement)
Date: Saturday, November 12, 2022
Time: 0900hrs (Doors close promptly at 0900hrs. Candidates arriving after 0900hrs will NOT be permitted to test.)
The written exam requires a passing score of 70%. Applicants who pass the written test will be given additional credit added to their test score for the following:
20% - Military Service Credit (Attach Proof)
10% - Bachelor’s degree (attach a proof)
5% - Associate’s degree (attach a proof)
5% - Current or former City of Cheviot Fire Department employee
*No person shall be entitled to more than 20% increase on their test score.
APPLICATION PERIOD
September 30, 2022- October 31, 2022
Applications may be picked up in person between the hours of 8:15am-3:45pm Monday-Friday on the 2nd Floor of the Cheviot Municipal building located at 3814 Harrison Ave Cheviot, Oh 45211 beginning September 30, 2022. Applications may also be downloaded from Cheviot.org/downloadable-forms/ . All applications must be turned in no later than 3:45pm on October 31, 2022.
