Party in the Park that was scheduled for June 14 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 28 due to the excessive heat watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109 degrees are possible.
While we do not like to postpone events, we feel that in the best interest of safety for the band, staff, and especially the attendees to postpone to another date. When an Excessive Heat Warning is issued, the NWS says that if precautions are not taken, people can be at risk of heat stress or heat stroke, which can cause people to become ill or die. The NWS recommends that people refrain from exercising or doing strenuous activity during the day. Children, seniors and anyone with health problems should stay in the coolest available place.
