City of Harrison Mayor Bill Neyer was named 2022 Distinguished Alumnus by Cincinnati State, where he graduated cum laude in 1986 with an associate’s degree in manufacturing engineering technology.
Mayor Neyer was honored during the college’s commencement ceremony in May. Cincinnati State developed a video featuring Mayor Neyer which can be viewed on Facebook.
“Under Mayor Neyer’s leadership, we have seen the city grow and grow,” said Douglas Bowling, dean of Engineering and Information Technologies at Cincinnati State. “He has also been a champion for Cincinnati State, helping with recruiting, airport master planning, and expanding the Cincinnati West facilities. I can think of no one more deserving of this award.”
Mayor Neyer also earned a bachelor of science degree in environmental management from the University of Findlay. He is employed as the superintendent of public works for Sunman, Indiana.
Before his election as mayor in 2015, Neyer served several terms on Harrison City Council. He and his wife Brenda Neyer have lived in Harrison since 1994 and have three children and two grandchildren.
Harrison is home to more than 13,000 residents, about 600 businesses and Cincinnati State’s Harrison Campus. The campus on West Road encompasses Cincinnati West Airport and Cincinnati State’s Aviation Maintenance Technology program.
Cincinnati State offers more than 140 associate degree, bachelor degree, and certificate programs in business, health, engineering, humanities, sciences, culinary, information technologies, and public safety. Cincinnati State also offers a nationally recognized cooperative learning program and custom training through its Workforce Development Center.
