Harrison Avenue in Harrison’s historic downtown district will be filled with people, food trucks and music for the 2022 Food Truck Rally May 21 from 4 to 10 p.m. The annual event is planned by The District, an association of local businesses, and the event involves many local companies, organizations and the City.
“I can’t say enough about how the Streets Department helps with this event,” said Ladyhawk Events Owner Annette Troescher. “They clean up so well at the end of the night, you wouldn’t even know there was an event. We also work closely with the Police and Fire departments to ensure public safety.”
The Harrison Recreation Commission will be a marquis sponsor of the event and also provide volunteers. To make the event run smoothly, about 40 people are needed to volunteer in shifts.
Troescher said 12 food trucks have committed to the event including past favorites like Sweets and Meats and Chicken Mac Truck. There will be trucks new to the event, including Cheese and Chong. Water and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. Drink tickets must be purchased for beer.
Live music will include Harrison-based Acoustic Blue and will be capped off by the band Timestamp. The Girl Scouts of America will have a kids zone near the Fire Station with face painting and other activities.
Harrison Avenue will be closed between Hill and State streets. Free parking will be available on the street and surface lots surrounding the event. Some stores will be open for shopping. For event and business information visit The District website.
